Natural Breaks
Natural Breaks is a respite service for unpaid carers who are caring for a person (within the age of 16 to 65 years of age) who have mental health problems and additional related problems.
By offering planned and regular respite to the carer, outwith the home, it opens up opportunities for the carer to tend to errands, tasks, hobbies or just enjoy valuable time to relax. The person who is cared for will be supported by well-trained and professional staff to take part in agreed activities within their local community.
Natural Breaks Service also offers longer respite periods in the form of short breaks to the carer. The service will arrange periods of overnight breaks for the person being cared for, in conjunction with them and the carer. This can range from an overnight stay or up to approximately three nights. This is done in a planned manner, however the service can deal with crisis respite if required.
